Who We Are

CAUSE Action Fund is a 501(c)4 grassroots nonprofit community group that empowers working families, immigrant communities and young people in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties to vote and elect candidates that represent us. We are a people-powered organization that believes our elected representatives should stand for quality schools, immigrant rights, workers’ rights, affordable housing, public transportation, clean air and water, and affordable healthcare.

What We Do

We educate and mobilize immigrant, working-class and young voters to build grassroots political power and leadership in our communities. We organize our communities, develop leaders, research policy, advocate for legislation, campaign for ballot measures, and elect local, state and federal representatives in Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties.

How We Endorse

We work with chapters of grassroots leaders who are everyday people from our local communities, from farmworkers to housekeepers, immigrant moms to high school youth. These leaders, who are involved in community activism year-round, interview candidates running for office every election season to ask them about the issues affecting our communities and vote for who to endorse.

How We Campaign

We don’t believe in campaigns that parachute into communities right before an election with glossy mailers and robo-calls. Instead, our grassroots leaders engage thousands of voters in every election by knocking on doors and making phone calls in their own communities, educating, mobilizing and empowering voters one by one. We focus on young people, immigrant families, and residents of working-class neighborhoods, who are too often ignored by traditional campaigns. We believe that real investments in building long-term, meaningful, and authentic leadership within marginalized communities is what it takes to achieve grassroots voter power for social, economic, and environmental justice.

Our Results

Our grassroots campaigns have a proven track record of boosting voter turnout rates among new and infrequent voters year after year. We have the capacity to have one-on-one conversations with tens of thousands of voters per election cycle. We have helped to elect champions for social, economic, and environmental justice to school boards, city councils, county boards of supervisors, and our state legislature.
